Beautiful day + young couple in love + secluded waterfall = my idea of the perfect engagement session. I had the best time last Saturday hanging out with Lauren and Chris for this session. We wandered around the gorgeous grounds of Swallow Falls State Park in Western Maryland, and there was no end to the beautiful possibilities of places to shoot.

A little of their love story, as told by Lauren…

“Chris and I met at a birthday dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings for two of our mutual friends. I listened to the other friends tell stories about Chris and I knew I wanted to get to know him better. I did learn that he was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and I am a Baltimore Ravens fan, so I was not sure if we would get along. We hung out a couple times with groups of friends and then exchanged phone numbers. We continued to text each other for the next couple of weeks. Chris then took me on a few dates to dinners, movies and picnics at Rocky Gap. A few days later Chris asked me to be his girlfriend, as he played a song he learned on the guitar for me.

After dating for a few years, Chris proposed to me a couple days before Christmas. I was visiting his parents and him to celebrate and exchange Christmas presents. When I got to their house Chris wanted to open presents right away, and I just figured he knew what I had bought for him. So finally after dinner we all went to the living room to exchange gifts and once I thought we had gotten all the gifts, Chris told me he had a really big present that he couldn’t wrap. So he made me turn around and close my eyes and said he would go get the really big gift out of the garage. When Chris returned he told me to turn around and open my eyes, and there he was down on one knee with a ring in his hand as he was asking me to marry him. I was in total shock, of course we had talked about getting married for a while but I had no clue that it was going to happen then.”

CONGRATULATIONS, Lauren and Chris! I can’t wait for the wedding in October! Here are a few of my favorites from the day.
