On Saturday, October 5th I had the honor of photographing Andrea and Michael’s wedding day at the Pier 5 Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland. It was a brisk fall day and the venue perfectly showcased the beautiful Baltimore inner harbor. This wedding is extra special to my heart because Andrea just so happens to be my sister-in-law. I’ve watched her grow up from a little girl to the most amazing woman and am so proud to call her my sister.
Knowing half of all in attendance made my job even sweeter. My awareness of how special the little heartfelt moments that unfold during a wedding day grew… A mother looks on and lovingly smiles as her daughter has her make-up done. Emotional first glances with family. Happy tears. The build up of nervous energy as the morning progresses. More happy tears. Powerful words from a brother to his sister and her groom. Big hugs. A welcome speech overflowing with pride for the amazing young people celebrating their love. A grandmother pulling her grandson to the dance floor. These moments are small but beautiful and what a wedding day should be all about. Andrea and Michael’s wedding day was full of so many of these joyful moments. So for today, I’m reminded of the memories that are tied to the photos I capture and I’m so happy to have been able to do this for my family. I hope you will enjoy a few of my favorites from the day…
